90' x 22' 5" Raised Bridge Motor Yacht
The concept for this yacht was to design a contemporary family cruiser with better than average performance using a conventional diesel/propeller propulsion arrangement. The result is a sleek euro-style 90 foot raised bridge motor yacht. The vessel is powered by 3 Caterpillar C-30 diesels rated at 1,550 BHP each. For this particular application where required horsepower must be balanced with boat size this triple engine layout is superior to installing two oversize behemoths. At an estimated half-load displacement of 228,143 pounds a maximum speed of 28.5 kts. is predicted. With this type of performance, welded marine aluminum or fiberglass composite would be suitable materials for vessel construction. Scantlings would be engineered using American Bureau of Shipping rules.
The accommodations plan shows a three stateroom guest layout: a large owner's state room aft and twin staterooms amidships, all with ensuite heads. Forward there are two cabins for three crew, a large head/shower compartment, crew's lounge and separate crew laundry facilities. The main deck layout has an open, island style with built -in swivel TV cabinet and dinette forward. When desired, a privacy door in the starboard passageway can be closed to isolate galley from main salon. Flush pantograph port and starboard main entry doors amidships lend to the euro-look and provided for separate companionways for owner and crew. The aft end of the portside passageway has a direct main deck access to the engine room station, elevated settee and flybridge access stairway. Aft is the full-beam main salon with a generous seating area, formal banquette, and wet bar. Outside, the covered aft deck has a built-in settee with pedestal table, wet bar and ladder access to be boat deck. The swim platform is accessed from a starboard stairway and when mooring med-style, boarding is by the port side hydraulically folding passarelle width and deck gate. Up top, the flybridge (not shown) features poured into starboard control stations, built-in seating and sun lounges, wet bar and tender storage aft.
